Abstract

269,050. Dean, A. A. Sept. 9, 1926. Sliding bolts for windows and doors, comprise a longitudinally slotted arcuate bolt a retained by a pin d in a guide c and engaging a staple e, the guide and staple being each flush with the edge of the member to which they are secured. The bolt is operated by a handle l or a reversible knob, and is retained by a pin i entering a lateral recess j or passing through a hole in the body of the bolt. Before mounting,-the bolt is readily separable from its guide, and the recesses in the guide and staple are formed to permit the reversal of the bolt. The pin d may be replaced by a pinion engaging teeth along one side of the bolt slot, to operate the bolt.
