Abstract

269,005. Heeley & Peart, Ltd., and Allday, G. W. June 14, 1926. Disc and like plate hinges for school desks, folding seats, and other purposes comprise a pin 1 that projects from a member 2 and is housed within a socket 3 of the other member 4 of the hinge, the parts being held together by a retaining pin 6 that is fitted in a hole in the end of the pivot pin 1, the retaining pin also serving to limit the angular movement of the joint by its engagement with stop members 8 on the socket member, as shown. The flange 5 of the socket member surrounds the end of the pivot pin and is fitted with a cover plate 9, and it is provided with an aperture to enable the retaining pin to be passed into position. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 8, the retaining pin 6 is formed integral with the cover plate 9.
