Abstract
268,842. Ritter Dental Manufacturing Co., Inc., (Assignees of May A. J.). Nov. 20, 1925, [Convention date]. Switches, quick-action.-A sliding switchmember 35 is linked to a pivoted member fitted with projections 58, 59, 60, one of which is in the path of pins 26, 27 on a rising and falling object 13. When the object rises or falls sufficiently for. a pin to encounter a stationary projection, e.g. 60, it actuates the switch and leaves another projection, e.g. 58, in the path of the pins. The switch-member comprises a bridging-contact which in its central position bridges across three stationary contacts 39, 40, 41 and in its upper and lower positions bridges across two contacts only. A quick movement into each position is obtained by an enclosed tranmission-spring 45 and a set of three notches coacting with a spring-seated ball detent 62. The invention is described for use as a limit switch in the adjustment of a dental chair by an electric motor. A pedal-operated starting and reversing switch is in circuit with the limit switch. The subject-matter is identical with part of that described in Specification 261,774.
