July 26, 1926 Feeding webs.-In a machine for attaching price tickets or tags to materials by means of crimped pins, the connected tags are arranged in a roll in the machine, the tag strips being notched between adjacent tags. The strip 38 passes to a guide table 39 formed as a channel in which a spring plate 41 lies above the strip. A bar 45 at one side of the guide table slidably supports a tag feeding carriage. 48 which is reciprocated by a lever 50 and connections from the cam shaft including means for adjusting the travel of the carriage and a stop at the end of the travel. The carriage 48 is provided with two spring- pressed fingers 61, 62 of which the finger 61 engages a notch in the tag strip to feed the whole strip forward and the finger 62 engages the foremost tag, which has already been severed, to feed it to the pinning position. The finger 61 engages, for a part of its travel, over a solid part of the plate 41, so that the finger 62 moves the end tag a greater distance than the whole strip is moved. The end tag is engaged centrally of its rear edge to prevent binding in the guide channel 39. For printing on the end tag a type chase 66 is carried by a rocking lever 69 above a resilient pad 76.
