Abstract

268,354. Michelin et Cie. March 24, 1926, [Convention date]. Tyre attachments to rims.-A wheel rim having a central or other circumferential recess C is fitted with one or more resilient plates A adapted to be withdrawn into the recess to permit manipulation of the tyre, or to assume the normal shape and position shown so as to close the recess against entrance of the tyre beads. The plate is adjusted by means of a bolt G and a nut F rotatably mounted in the base of the recess. The latter may be formed with a portion B of increased depth adjacent the plate device. The plate may be covered with rubber, leather, etc.; or, as shown, it may be fitted with a plastic liner J. The device may be used in combination with other tyre-attachment means, such for example as described in Specification 222,768. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes also the use of rigid material for the plates. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
