Abstract
268,339. Treuhand-Ges., Bartmann & Co., (Assignees of Bartmann, L.). March 24, 1926, [Convention date]. Rotary sieves; endless moving sieves; fixed sieves; sieves, forms and construction of.-Apparatus for sifting pasty or doughy masses, stated to be applied to the separation of the endosperm of cereals from the husks, comprises a metal cylinder Fig. 2 in which slots are made from end to end of the drum leaving strips 6 connected together by an internal supporting helix 5 soldered to the inside of the drum. The slots may be divided into square apertures by notching the outer edges of the strips 6<a>, Fig. 3, and winding in the notches a wire 8. In use the mass is pressed against the outside of the cylinder by another like member or by a smooth metal or rubber cylinder. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) also describes a sieve member consisting of a cylinder 1, Fig. 1 (Cancelled) having slots 2 cut either in the direction of the axis or obliquely and either staggered or in rows. In a modification the cylinder may be replaced by an endless band or disc. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
