Regulating.-In reversible water turbines with alternate flow in opposite directions as described in the parent Specification wherein the angularity of the rotor blades is adjusted by a device which first loosens the blades and then turnsthem through an angle, and finally re-fixes them to the rotor boss, the permissible pitch of the rotor blades 1 - - 6 is reduced substantially by employing a device which first turns the even blades 2, 4, 6 into the middle position indicated by the broken line 2, Fig. 4, then turns the odd blades 1, 3, 5 into the reversing position, and finally completes the turning of the even blades. A shaft 15 has reverse threads 16, 17 meshing with nuts 18, 19 connected by links 20, 21 with the conical blade spindles S, 22, so that the blades are loosened or fixed according to the direction of movement of the shaft 15. The above described turning movements of the odd and even vanes are effected by an electromotor 25 arranged within an extension 23 of the rotor shaft. This motor drives through gearing a loose ring 30 which can be coupled by an electromagnet 31 with the shaft 15. By means of electromagnetic clutches 33, 34, 35 and planet gear 37, two hollow shafts 11, 13 can be moved so as to give the desired turning movements to the Mades through the medium of gears 12, 14, 9, 10.
