Rolling-machines. - In briquetting-presses of the type in which material is compressed within a groove in a ring by an eccentrically-disposed disc, the ring is formed in two sections having the radial joint off-set from the compression zone. As shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the ring comprises sections 9, 10 with twin portions 20, 21 interengaging by a shoulder 7 forming the base of the compression groove 2. The sections are pressed together at the compression zone by flanged rollers 1, 16 which may be adjustable for wear and are separated by a wedge-shaped collar 18 on a ring 17. A scraper 14 detaches the moulded material which passes to a discharge shoot 15. To prevent accumulation of material in front of the compressing disc 3, a preliminary pressure is applied by a roll 5 located adjacent to the hopper 4. Fig. 4 shows a modification in which the rim portions 22, 23 of the ring sections 12, 13 are recessed to embrace an intermediate ring 11, the joints 24 being off-set from the compression groove 2. The ring may be disposed vertically or horizontally.
