Abstract

265,769. Wade, H., (Wadsworth Watch Case Co.). Feb. 4, 1926. Condensation products formed from furfural, pyrrol, or thiophene by the use of various reagents such as aniline, hydrochloric acid, ammonia, acetone, methylethylketone, a-naphthylamine, and caustic soda are employed as photosensitive layers. Examples are described of sensitive resins formed by condensing furfural with acetone in the presence of caustic soda, aniline (alone or containing iodine, cellulose acetate, asphaltum or coumarone resin), #-naphthylamine (alone or with iodine), cyclohexanone in the presence of caustic soda, m-toluylenediamine, benzidine, m-phenylenediamine, xylidine, mesitvloxide in the presence of caustic soda, cyclohexane-carboxylic acid, dimethylaniline, and benzylaniline. In other examples, sensitive resins are formed from pyrrol either by distilling it alone, or by treating it with concentrated sulphuric acid.
