265,598. Drescher, H. Feb. 8, 1926, [Convention date]. Soothing-teats. - A teat intended to discourage thumb sucking is in the form of a stall b which is provided with channels c which put the interior of the child's mouth in communication with the atmosphere. The formation of a partial vacuum in the child's mouth is thus prevented and this is stated to discourage the habit of cucking the thumb. The channels c may be on the inner surface of the stall as shown in Fig. 1 or ducts may be formed in the material of the stall. The stall is fixed in position by a band attached to studs e, and a flange d may be provided to prevent the stall from being swallowed.
