Abstract
263,065. Miles, F. W. Aug. 20, 1926. Roofing tiles of the kind formed on their upper surfaces with two curved concave portions and with overlapping rebated sides are formed with, (1) a drainage groove f, Fig. 4 in one of the overlapping portions, one. edge of the groove being formed by the outer edge of the rebate, (2) the curved portions raised at the centre and edges above the level of the flat upper portion of the tile, thereby forming shoulders b against which rest the bottom edges of the tiles in the next higher row, (3) the curved portions meeting in a sharp arris c, Fig. 1 to throw water rapidly from the line of the joints in the next lower row of tiles, and (4) with bridges h, Fig. 2, on the curved underside of the tile to form flat supports or rests to prevent distortion during drying. Hanging nibs g, also are provided.
