Abstract
A floatable electricity distribution platform 100 comprises a semisubmersible hull 101 having a plurality of columns 10a-d supported by a pontoon structure 11. A deck 102 is supported by the columns. Cables 20 are arranged from the sea (104, Fig 4) to the deck and electric equipment 103 arranged on the deck. A switchgear housing 103a may be arranged on the deck and the cables may extend horizontally in the switchgear housing, with just a single 90-degree bend between the sea and the switchgear housing. The switchgear housing may comprise pairs of switchgear (62 and 63, Fig 5) and the platform may also comprise pairs of transformers (60, Fig 5), connected to the switchgear. The pairs of switchgear and pairs of transformers may be arranged mirrored about a longitudinal axis (x) of the platform.
