Diaphragms. - In an instrument, such as a microphone, comprising a sensitive element, such as a diaphragm a, enclosed in a casing l having a removable cover, means are provided for removing the diaphragm with the cover without exposure to detrimental pressure. The diaphragm is supported by an annular socket b having lugs e which are inserted in alternate notches m in the rim of the casing to prevent displacement of the socket. A cover i is stiffened by an annular groove k, which also holds down the diaphragm, and is applied by introducing lugs n into the notches not occupied by the lugs e, and turning the cover until locked by stops h. The diaphragm can be removed between the cover and the socket by turning the cover until lugs n, e coincide. According to a modification the diaphragm is held down by springs fitted to the cover.
