Abstract
The invention relates to a single-layer technical fabric having two woven or knitted yarns with abrasion-resistant and cut-resistant properties. Thus, two different parts are defined in the thickness of the fabric, a first, exterior part with the second yarn being dominant, and a second, interior part with the first yarn being dominant. Advantageously, the second yarn is a yarn having a core made from continuous filaments and is covered with natural, artificial or synthetic cellulosic fibres or a mixture of same, and the first yarn is formed by an elastic filament on which a continuous non-elastic filament is wound, both filaments being covered with natural, artificial or synthetic cellulosic fibres or a mixture of same.
Description
SINGLE-LAYER TECHNICAL FABRIC
DESCRIPTION
TECHNICAL FIELD
The present invention relates to a single-layer fabric comprising two yarns, a first yarn referred to as a "comfort" yarn and a second yarn referred to as a "technical" yarn, with high abrasion and cut resistance properties.
The object to the invention is to obtain a single-layer fabric which, having a fundamentally technical and protective base provides high comfort to the user wearing an article of clothing made with the mentioned fabric, given that it offers considerable elasticity.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
A number of different types of single-layer fabrics with high abrasion and cut resistance properties are known.
In this sense, patent number ES2291953T3 which discloses a single-layer fabric formed by a yarn referred to as a "comfort" yarn and another "technical" yarn, wherein the "comfort" yarn does not provide the set of relevant properties against abrasion and cutting, can be cited.
All this has led the applicant of this utility model to detect the need to improve the disclosed single-layer fabric, providing a development which solves the drawbacks and problems that this type of fabric and other known fabrics present.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The single-layer fabric that is herein proposed has been designed to provide a product which, having a fundamentally technical and protective base, provides high comfort to the user due to its remarkable elasticity and high abrasion and cut resistance properties.
Therefore, the single-layer technical fabric of the invention is made up of two yarns, a first yarn referred to as a "comfort" yarn and a second "technical" yarn, wherein said technical -1 -fabric provides high abrasion and cut resistance properties, and wherein these two yarns are woven or knitted so as to define at least two separate portions in the thickness of the fabric.
A first portion is thereby arranged on the outside of the single-layer technical fabric where the "technical" yarn is the dominant yarn, and a second inner portion where the "comfort" yarn is the dominant yarn. Said portions thus form a single-layer fabric where the "technical" yarn is a yarn made from continuous filaments, the core of which is covered with cellulose fibers, which are natural, artificial, synthetic, or a mixture thereof.
The essence of the invention lies in the fact that the yarn referred to as "comfort" yarn is made with an elastic filament on which a continuous filament that is non-elastic, i.e., without elasticity, is wound. Both filaments are thereby covered with cellulose fibers, which are natural, artificial, synthetic, or a mixture there of. Preferably, the elastic filament of the "comfort" yarn has a thickness of 40 to 250 Denier, for the purpose of structurally conferring IS the consistency and strength needed to the single-layer fabric.
Optionally, the "comfort" yarn further more includes an elastomultiester filament, the function of which is to provide elasticity, excellent recovery, and considerable durability to the final assembly.
Namely, the inclusion of the elastomultiester filament assures that the stretched fabric always recovers its original shape and does not deform. The elastomultiester filament is thereby wound on the elastic filament, where as the non-elastic, continuous filament is wound on the elastomultiester filament and the elastic filament, with all three filaments being covered with cellulose fibers, which are natural, artificial, synthetic, or a mixture thereof.
Moreover, the non-elastic, continuous filaments of the "comfort" yarn preferably have a thickness of 30 to 400 Denier and are constituted by non-textured filaments with high abrasion and cut resistance properties, with their material being selected from the group of para-aramids, meta-aramids, high-modulus polyethylene, high-tenacity polyamides, high-tenacity polyester, carbon, or a combination thereof.
With respect to the "technical" yarn constituting the single-layer fabric, it should be pointed out that the core of the "technical" yarn is made up of non-textured continuous filaments with high abrasion and cut resistance properties and that they are constituted by a material -2 -selected from the group of para-aramids, meta-aramids, high-modulus polyethylene, high-tenacity polyamides, high-tenacity polyester, carbon, or a combination thereof.
Furthermore, the surface of the core of the "technical" yarn is covered with a coating at least partially constituted by cellulose fibers, which are natural, artificial, synthetic, or a mixture thereof.
Therefore, the single-layer technical fabric of the invention has a weft yarn constituted by the "comfort" yarn and a warp yarn constituted by the "technical" yarn.
Lastly, the resulting single-layer technical fabric is obtained by means of a warp-effect weaving, preferably with 3/1 or 2/1 twill, or is made by means of knitting or as a knit fabric.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
To complement the description that will be made below and for the purpose of helping to better understand the features of the invention according to a preferred, practical embodiment thereof, a set of drawings is attached as an integral part of said description in which the following is depicted in an illustrative and non-limiting manner: Figure 1 shows a view of the "comfort" yarn making up the single-layer fabric according to a preferred embodiment of the invention.
Figure 2 shows a representation of the "comfort" yarn of the single-layer fabric constituted by an elastic filament, a non-elastic filament, and the fibers covering them.
PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
In a non-limiting, preferred embodiment of the invention, the single-layer technical fabric is made up of two yarns, a yarn referred to as a "comfort" yarn and a "technical" yarn, with high abrasion and cut resistance properties The two mentioned yarns are woven or knitted so as to preferably define two separate portions in the thickness of the fabric. I5 -3 -
A first portion of the fabric is thereby positioned on the outside, where the "technical" yarn is dominant; where as a second portion of the fabric is positioned on the inside, where the "comfort" yarn is dominant.
Said inner and outer portions thus form a fabric, where the "technical" yarn is a yarn made from continuous filaments, the core of which is covered with cellulose fibers, which are natural, artificial, synthetic, or a mixture thereof. The essence of the invention lies in the fact that the yarn referred to as "comfort" yarn (1) is made with an elastic filament (2) on which a non-elastic, continuous filament (3) is wound.
As observed in Figures 1 and 2 which depict the structure and configuration of the "comfort" yarn, the elastic filament (2) and the non-elastic, continuous filament (3) are covered with cellulose fibers (4), which are natural, artificial, synthetic, or a mixture thereof.
