Abstract
260,820. Lane, J. B. Aug. 8, 1925. Casting apparatus. - A pourer for a continuouscasting machine, as described in Specification 248,812, has a transverse weir or weirs and is arranged to deliver a stream of molten material approximately equal in width to that of the sheet to be cast. The material enters the pourer by means of a pipe 29 with holes 30 and passes over weirs 31, 32 and a lip 33 to the mould faces 11, 12. Baffles 40 are provided in the first compartment and also, if desired, in compartment 27.
