Abstract
This air conditioning device comprises: a compressor that compresses a refrigerant; a high pressure-side piping in which the refrigerant discharged from the compressor flows; a first heat exchanger that is connected to the high pressure-side piping, and that functions as a condenser; a second heat exchanger that is connected to the high pressure-side piping and to the first heat exchanger and is connected in parallel to the first heat exchanger, and that functions as a condenser; a flow passage switching device that is connected to the high pressure-side piping and to the second heat exchanger, and that switches between a first flow passage by which the refrigerant discharged from the compressor is supplied to the first heat exchanger via the high pressure-side piping but is not supplied to the second heat exchanger, and a second flow passage by which the refrigerant discharged from the compressor is supplied to the first heat exchanger and the second heat exchanger via the high pressure-side piping; a flow rate adjustment valve that is connected to a refrigerant outlet of the second heat exchanger; a refrigerant circuit piping that is connected to a refrigerant outlet of the first heat exchanger and to the flow rate adjustment valve; an external air temperature sensor that measures the temperature of external air; and a control device that controls the flow passage switching device and the flow rate adjustment valve. The refrigerant circuit piping connects between the first and second heat exchangers and an expansion valve of a refrigerant circuit, in which the refrigerant circulates through the compressor, the flow passage switching device, the first heat exchanger, the second heat exchanger, the flow rate adjustment valve, the expansion valve, and an evaporator of an indoor unit. The control device determines whether a prescribed condition has been met in a state in which the flow passage switching device has switched to the first flow passage, the condition being such that the temperature of external air measured by the external air temperature sensor is equal to or less than a first temperature which is below freezing and a degree of discharge superheat of the compressor is at least a first degree of discharge superheat; and if determining that the prescribed condition has been met, the control device switches the flow passage switching device to the second flow passage and opens the flow rate adjustment valve so that the refrigerant remaining in the second heat exchanger is made to flow to the refrigerant circuit piping.
