As shown in Fig. 3, two of the second warning members 45 may alternatively be installed in two corners of the rear window of the vehicle 800, located corresponding to the doors 801 on the left side and the right side of the vehicle 800. The two second warning members 45 may be activated simultaneously when any of the doors 801 is opened or individually when one of the doors 801 on the corresponding side of the vehicle is opened.
As shown in Fig. 4, the lateral warning member 42 can be connected to the top, the bottom or the lateral side of the side mirror 802. Also, as shown in Fig. 4, the lateral warning member 42 can be connected to the inside of the case of the side mirror 802 such that the lateral warning member 42 is located between the side mirror 802 and the case for the side mirror 802. Alternatively, the lateral warning member 42 can be attached to the side mirror 802.
When the door 801 is opened and closed again, the door sensor module 7 activates the reminding unit 4 to operate for a pre-set period of time such as 8 to 10 seconds. The reminding unit 4 provides warning signals to passing vehicles when the driver or passenger gets out of the vehicle 800 and stays beside the vehicle 800.
The interior door handle sensor assembly 6 is designed to detect whether or not an object enters into the recess 805 so as to detect that the interior door handle 806 is pivoted. In one embodiment, the interior door handle sensor assembly 6 is used to detect whether or not the block plate module 3 is activated to swing. When the block plate module 3 is pivoted to its open position and the recess 805 is exposed, the interior door handle sensor assembly 6 electrically activates the reminding unit 4 to detect the opening of the door 801.
The power storage module 5 stores electric power for providing electric power to the vehicle door-open reminding system 200 of the present invention. When the vehicle 800 is switched off, the vehicle door-open reminding system 200 is still powered to provide reminding signals when the door 801 is opened. In one embodiment, the power storage module 5 can be omitted, and the vehicle door-open reminding system 200 is directly connected to the power system 810 of the vehicle 800 to provide necessary electric power after the vehicle 800 is shut off As shown in Figs. 8 to 10, a second embodiment is disclosed which provides a different block plate module 3 and different functions of the interior door handle sensor assembly 6. In the second embodiment, the interior door handle 806 of the vehicle 800 is a ring-shaped handle which defines an opening 808 that communicates with the recess 805, so that the user's fingers can extend through the opening 808 to operate the ring-shaped handle. Besides, the vehicle 800 includes a door lock switch 809 which is located in the opening 808 and is co-axially connected with the interior door handle 806. The door lock switch 809 controls the door lock.
The block plate module 3 is able to be pushed toward the recess 805 and resiliently swings to block the opening 808 defined by the interior door 20 handle 806. The block plate module 3 is also located to the outside or the entrance of the recess 805.
The block plate module 3 and the interior door handle sensor assembly 6 are respectively located in the recess 805 at a distance from each other, such that the interior door handle sensor assembly 6 is able to check the operation of the block plate module 3 if the block plate module 3 is pivoted toward the recess 805.
When the driver or passenger wants to open the door 801, he or she uses fingers to operate the block plate module 3 to expose the opening 808 of the interior door handle 806, and then the fingers extend through the opening 808 and pull the interior door handle 806 to open the door 801. As shown in Fig. 10, the interior door handle sensor assembly 6 is activated to control and activate the reminding unit 4 so that the above mentioned reminding and warning signals and audio signals are provided to remind the driver or passenger and the pedestrians or vehicles beside the vehicle.
In one embodiment, a sensor unit 61 is connected to the block plate module 3, and the sensor unit 61 can be a touch-type sensor unit or a non-touch sensor unit (optical sensor, for example). The sensor unit 61 is electrically connected to the reminding unit 4 and is activated when the fingers of the driver or passenger move close to or the fingers of the driver or passenger touches the block plate module 3. Therefore the reminding unit 4 is activated to issue a warning signal before the door is opened. The reminding unit 4 provides 3 to 5 seconds of warning so that the pedestrians and vehicles beside the vehicle have sufficient time to respond. The sensor unit 61 can be installed in each door 801 of the vehicle 800 to activate the reminding unit 4 to provide warning signals.
As shown in Fig. 11, another embodiment is disclosed wherein the 5 interior door handle 806 is an elongate plate so that the user's fingers may enter into the recess 805 of the door 801, and pull and pivot the interior door handle 806. The block plate module 3 blocks the top of the interior door handle 806. When the block plate module 3 is operated, the interior door handle 806 is able to pulled, and drives the interior door handle sensor 10 assembly 6 to activate the reminding unit 4.
While we have shown and described the embodiment in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that finther embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.
