Abstract
260,129. Bube, K. Dec. 22, 1925. Paraffin waxes, purifying.-Paraffin wax or naphthalene is desulphurized by pugging scales, chips, or the like thereof with acetone or ethyl alcohol or its homologues or other alcohols mixed or not with benzine or benzene, the proportion of solvent being insufficient to dissolve appreciable amounts of the wax or naphthalene. In an example, equal quantities of wax or naphthalene and ethyl alcohol of 93-97 per cent strength are used, and the liquid is separated by centrifuging, pressing, or suction filtration.
