Abstract

259,657. Drake & Gorham, Ltd., and Drake, R. H. M. July 13, 1925. Continuous-discharge apparatus, rotary; aircontrolling direction of flow of; heating-fittings.- Tea passes through a shoot 13 into the rotary drum 5 through which it is tumbled by the lifting vanes 9 and the helical conveyer 10 to the discharge shoot 12 in countercurrent to air which is forced by the fan 16 through the pipe 17 into the insulated casing enclosing the drum and the electric heaters 2, and thence through the drum to the outlet 19. Baffles 4 are provided in the space between the drum and its casing, while a heating coil may be located in the space 20 in the casing to warm the cold air passing to the casing.
