259,346. Granfield, A. G. Aug. 17, 1925. Fixed-abutment type; balancing moving parts. -In a rotary pump or engine of the type having sliding vanes 4 constrained by projecting portions 5 entering a channel between two circular tracks concentric. with the casing, the vane projection surface 25 which bears on the inner track is curved to a radius equal to the distance between the tracks while the outer surface 26 is such that in all positions line contact is maintained with the outer track. The tracks are formed by pairs of rings 6, 7 the outer one 6 of each pair being free to rotate while the inner one 7 is fixed to a boss on the casing.
