Turning. - The turret 11 of a lathe or like machine tool is mounted on a slide 16 which is reciprocated by a cam drum 21, the indexing movement being performed while the turret is stationary at the end of its withdrawal movement by means of a pin 20 mounted on the cam drum and coacting with a notched disc 18. To allow the rotation of the turret, the spring-pressed locking bolt 15 is withdrawn from a second notched disc 13 by means of a cam 28 carried by the drum 21 and acting through a pivoted lever 25.
