Abstract
The present disclosure relates to a beverage pump (1) assembly and a beverage dispensing system and a method for pressurized distribution of beverage, such as carbonated beverage, between a beverage storage area and a beverage tapping area using the beverage pump (1) assembly. A first embodiment relates to a beverage dispensing system comprising a beverage distribution line (6) for pressurized distribution of beverage from at least one beverage storage area to at least one beverage tapping area, said beverage distribution line (6) configured for cooling the beverage such that the beverage can be distributed to said beverage tapping area with a predefined maximum temperature of the beverage, at least one remote pump (1) assembly located along the beverage distribution line (6) and comprising at least one support pump (1) configured for maintaining an elevated pressure of the beverage distribution line (6), and a cooling arrangement configured for cooling the beverage pump (1) such that the beverage inside the beverage pump (1) is maintained at said maximum temperature.
Claims (24)
1. A beverage dispensing system comprising a beverage distribution line for pressurized distribution of beverage from at least one beverage storage area to at least one beverage tapping area, said beverage distribution line comprising at least one cooling fluid line configured for cooling the beverage such that the beverage can be distributed to said beverage tapping area with a predefined maximum temperature of the beverage, at least one remote pump assembly located along the beverage distribution line and comprising a. at least one beverage pump configured for maintaining an elevated pressure of the beverage distribution line, and b. a cooling arrangement configured for cooling the beverage pump(s) such that the beverage inside the beverage pump(s) is maintained at said maximum temperature.

The beverage dispensing system according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the remote pump assembly further comprises a thermal insulation housing having an internal cavity for fitting said beverage pump and configured for accommodating a beverage inlet line and a beverage outlet line for establishing fluid communication between said beverage pump and the beverage distribution line.

The beverage dispensing system according to claim 2, wherein said thermal insulating housing comprises a rear housing part and a front housing part, said rear housing part and said front housing part being separable along an outer perimeter of said insulating housing for exposing said internal cavity and accessing the beverage pump and wherein the remote pump assembly is configured to connect between an incoming beverage python and outgoing beverage python of the beverage distribution line.
4. The beverage dispensing system according to any of the preceding claims, wherein said cooling arrangement is configured for fluidly transporting a cooling medium through the remote pump assembly for cooling the beverage pump, said beverage inlet line, and/or said beverage outlet line.
5. The beverage dispensing system according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the cooling fluid line extends through said remote pump assembly.
6. The beverage dispensing system according to claim 5, adjacent to said beverage inlet line, said beverage outlet line and said beverage pump for cooling said beverage inlet line, said beverage outlet line and said beverage pump.
7. The beverage dispensing system according to any of claims 5-6, wherein said cooling fluid line encircles the beverage pump at least once.

The beverage dispensing system according to any of claims 5-7, wherein said cooling fluid line encircles the beverage pump at least once in one end of the beverage pump and at least once at the opposite end of the beverage pump and wherein the cooling fluid line proceeds along a substantially straight line between the two encircled ends.
9. The beverage dispensing system according to any of the preceding claims, wherein said beverage pump is a twin chambered gas powered pump.

The beverage dispensing system according to any of the preceding claims, wherein one end of the beverage distribution line comprises a keg connection end configured for connecting to at least one non-collapsible beverage container and at least one gas supply configured for supplying carbon dioxide to said beverage container.
11. The beverage dispensing system according to any of the preceding claims, further comprising at least one beverage tapping device for tapping said cooled beverage, said at least one tapping device fluidly connected to the beverage distribution line and located in the tapping area.

The beverage dispensing system according to any of the preceding claims, wherein said beverage distribution line comprises at least one python and wherein said python comprises a beverage tube for the beverage and a forward cooling fluid line in proximity of said beverage tube for cooling the beverage and optionally a reverse cooling fluid line.

A pump assembly for maintaining an elevated pressure in beverage distribution line in a long distance beverage dispensing system, comprising a. at least one beverage pump configured for maintaining said elevated pressure of the beverage distribution line, and b. a cooling arrangement configured for cooling the beverage pump(s) such that the beverage inside the beverage pump(s) is maintained at said maximum temperature.

The pump assembly according to claim 13, comprising a thermal insulation housing having an internal cavity for fitting said beverage pump and configured for accommodating a beverage inlet line and a beverage outlet line for establishing fluid communication between said beverage pump and the beverage distribution line.

The pump assembly according to claim 14, wherein said thermal insulating housing, such as a foam housing, comprises a rear housing part and a front housing part, said rear housing part and said front housing part being separable along an outer perimeter of said insulating housing for exposing said internal cavity and accessing the beverage pump and wherein the remote pump assembly is configured to connect between an incoming beverage python and outgoing beverage python of the beverage distribution line.
16. The pump assembly according to any of claims 13-15, wherein said cooling arrangement is configured for fluidly transporting a cooling medium through the remote pump assembly for cooling the beverage pump, said beverage inlet line, and/or said beverage outlet line.
17. The pump assembly according to any of claims 13-16, wherein said cooling arrangement comprises a cooling fluid line that extends through said remote pump assembly.
18. The pump assembly according to any of claims 16-17, wherein said cooling fluid line or cooling medium encircles the beverage pump at least once.
19. The pump assembly according to any of claims 16-18, wherein said cooling fluid line or cooling medium encircles the beverage pump at least once in one end of the beverage pump and at least once at the opposite end of the beverage pump and wherein the cooling fluid line proceeds along a substantially straight line between the two encircled ends.
20. The pump assembly according to any of claims 13-19, wherein said beverage pump is a twin chambered pump.
21. The pump assembly according to any claim 20, wherein each chamber is encircled at least once by a cooling fluid line or cooling medium of the cooling arrangement.
22. The pump assembly according to any of claims 13-21 , wherein said beverage pump gas powered pump.
23. A method for distributing beverage through a long distance beverage distribution line between a beverage storage area and a beverage tapping area, the method comprising the steps of causing beverage to flow from a beverage container in the beverage storage area into a beverage tube in the beverage distribution line by providing an elevated pressure from a gas supply, cooling the beverage during transport by causing a cooling fluid to flow through a cooling tube in said beverage distribution line in proximity to the beverage tube, guiding the beverage and the cooling fluid through at least one remote pump assembly, the remote pump assembly comprising a beverage pump cooled by the cooling fluid, such that the reduced temperature and the elevated pressure inside the beverage tube is maintained all the way to the beverage tapping area.
24. The method according to claim 23, wherein the remote pump assembly is the pump assembly according to any of claims 13-22.
