Abstract

A bubble spirit level with a centre hole 1 and marking holes 2 and which permits the marking of pipework runs on a wall relative to a centre mark in the centre hole. There may be outer notches 3 and inner notches 4 along the width of the level which also provide a means to mark pipework runs and pipework chases, the inner notches are used if offset bends are required when clipping pipework to the wall. There may be a lower measuring rule 7 located along the length of the level and a hanging loop provided at an end of the level. The level may be moulded from a plastics composition which is lightweight, robust and non-marking if dropped on an enamel surface.

Description

Shower M8-Description
The present invention is designed so that a Plumber, Tiler, other tradesman or Diver can mark out, cut or chase the wall and run pipework/lay tiles perfectly square and level to the taps or symmetrical to the wall all in one simple tool.
Currently to fit a mixer shower, the installer needs to hold a tape measure, spirit level and marker pen whilst trying to align pipework square to the wall. With the Shower M8 tool you can measure and level concurrently, ensuring the marking out process to be much easier and accurate. Therefore less equipment is needed for the task, less equipment is then potentially able to drop down from the wall damaging any delicate/enamel surface, which then prevents the user from having to multitask with separate tools.
Therefore, the DlYer or home owner only has to purchase 1 tool to complete the job and the tradesman has a reliable product that easily fits in to the tool bag and can be used not only for shower installation, but as a level for electric, power or any other type of mixer shower, a tape measure for any type of marking out and a level in its own right that can be used to level all other types of sanitary ware for the Plumber or any other tasks in the working environment for all other trades or users.
The Shower M8 can also be stored hung up on a wall, in the shed or garage, in the back of the van or wherever convenient, via the hanging loop at the end of the level.
All that is required is the starting mark on the wall at the height the manufacturer recommends or the users chosen height, this mark is then located in the centre hole of the Shower M8 and the rest is taken care of all by the Shower M8 itself. All pipe runs can be perfectly planned and marked out ensuring when the holes or pipe runs/pipe chases are cut, the pipes will be perfectly level, square and the horizontal pipes can be measured out using the tool ensuring a perfect fit to the shower unit.

Claims (11)

  1. Claims 1. A bubble spirit level for levelling the marking holes in the installation of mixer shower pipework via a staffing mark in the centre hole of the level.
  2. 2. A bubble spirit level according to claim 1, characterised in that the level also comprises means to mark on the wall the pipework runs needed to run pipework surface mounted along the wall.
  3. 3. A bubble spirit level according to claim 1, characterised in that the level also comprises means to mark on the wall pipework runs that are to be chased in to the wall.
  4. 4. A bubble spirit level according to claim 1, characterised in that the level also comprises means to mark on the wall pipework runs to be off set from the shower unit and surface run.
  5. 5. A bubble spirit level according to claim 1, characterised in that the level also comprises means to level: a) The marking of pipework holes to be cut in to the wall b) The marking of pipework runs above or below the desired location of the shower unit c) The marking of pipework clips along the surface ran pipework
  6. 6. A bubble spirit level according to claim 1, characterised in that the level also comprises means to measure 15mm pipe work on the width of the product via a groove cut to accommodate the 15mm copper or plastic pipework.
  7. 7. A bubble spirit level according to claim 1, characterised in that the level also comprises means to measure pipework, clips distances or any other shower installation components via the lower measuring rule along the levels total length.
  8. 8. A bubble spirit level according to claim 1, characterised in that the level also comprises means to be stored vertically via the hanging loop provided at the end of the level.
  9. 9. A bubble level according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the level is moulded from a plastics composition.
  10. 10. A bubble level according to claim 9, characterised in that the plastics composition from which the level is moulded, is chosen so that when in use is lightweight, robust and non-marking if dropped on the delicate, enamel surfaces.
  11. 11. A bubble level substantially as here in before described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
