Abstract
259,107. Pearse, C. J., and Larkman, F. March 5, 1926. Top boots.-Ladies' high-legged boots are provided with a leg portion 1, Fig. 1, having one or more extensible insertions 2, consisting of pleated materials 2a, Fig. 3, secured by rows o-f stitches 5 to a backing 4 of elastic material, the insertions providing stretch crosswise of the leg, and the rows of stitches being located between the pleats. The insertion, or insertions, is, or are, situated in one or each side of the leg near the ankle, with or without one or more similar insertions 9 at the top of the leg. The pleats consist preferably of leather. The insertions at the ankle are secured by stitches 7, 8, and these at the top of the leg by stitches 11. Alternatively, one or more insertions may extend the full length of the upper.
