Axle-trucks and bogies; springs, arrangement of.-In a bogie truck the load is transmitted at two points d, Fig. 2, to one or more laminated springs a arranged transversely of the bogie truck which supports each end of the springs at b, the points b lying within or in close proximity to the central vertical planes of the side frames or of the journal bearings of the vehicle. The springs a are loaded through the side bearers c and bearer bars d, the upper and lower parts of the bearers being conected by short pillars e passing through guides f on a transom g which comprises an upper main beam and two lower transverse members spaced apart to clear the springs a as described in Specification 259,021. The ends of the springs a may be supported on swing links o, Fig. 7, through the medium of coil springs i, or the springs i may be placed between the bearer bar l, Fig. 5, and a side bearing k on a swing bolster q, in which case the centre pivot r of the vehicle is centralized by springs p.
