The two engaging members 330 are movable disposed in a chamber of the hollow guiding member 340, so as to selectively engage with or disengage from the corresponding engaging holes 352. By operating the operating member 310, the two linking members 320 drive the two engaging members 330 to retract into the guiding member 340 to disengage from the corresponding engaging holes 352, which allows the headrest 200 to move relative to the backrest portion 120 up and down for adjusting the height of the headrest 200 conveniently. In this embodiment, there are seven engaging holes 352 formed on the each of the two engaging racks 350. However, the number of the engaging holes 352 is not limited to this embodiment. It depends on practical design demands, and there are preferably more than one engaging hole 352 formed on each of the two engaging racks 350.
Preferably, as shown in FIG. 9, the headrest adjusting mechanism 300 further includes two resilient members 360 disposed in the chamber of the hollow guiding member 340. Two ends of each of the two resilient members 360 abut against the corresponding engaging member 330 and an inner wall of the guiding member 340, such that the two engaging members 340 are biased to protrude from the guiding member 340.
As shown in FIG. 1 to FIG. 11, operation principle of the shoulder strap adjusting mechanism 500 is described as follows.
Each of the two shoulder straps 400 passes through the front side and the rear side of the fixing member 510 from top to bottom, such that the two shoulder straps 400 wrap about the fixing member 510. The end of each of the two shoulder straps 400 passes through the corresponding first through hole 522a and stretches to the front side of the seat body 100 via the corresponding passing slot 210. The other end of each of the two shoulder straps 400 passes through the second through hole 522b and stretches to the rear side of the seat body 100 via the corresponding first passing hole 122. An end of the crotch strap 600 is detachably connected to the seat portion 110. The other end of the crotch strap 600 stretches to the front side of the seat body 100 upwardly. The crotch strap 600 is connected to the two shoulder straps 400 which stretch to the front side of the seat body 100 to form a Y-shaped structure for securing a child sitting on the child safety seat 800. The other ends of the two shoulder straps 400 which stretch to the rear side of the seat body 100 are connected to an end of the adjusting strap 700. The other end of the adjusting strap 700 passes through the second passing hole 111 and stretches to the front side of the seat body 100. By adjusting the length of the adjusting strap 700, it is easy to adjust the two shoulder straps 400 and the crotch strap 600 tight or loose, which allows a child to sit more comfortably.
By operating the operating member 310, the two linking members 320 drive the two engaging members 330 to retract into the chamber of the hollow guiding member 340 and press the two resilient members 360 to deform. At this moment, the headrest 200 is allowable to move relative to the backrest portion 120 up and down. When the headrest 200 moves, since the adjusting members 520 are abutted against the headrest 200, the two adjusting members 520 are driven to move with headrest 200 simultaneously. During the above-mentioned process, the position of two shoulder straps 400 are immovable, but parts where the two shoulder straps 400 stretch out of the first through holes 522a are changed. When the headrest 200 moves to a desired position, the two shoulder straps 400 move to the corresponding positions simultaneously, such that the height of the two shoulder straps 400 match the height of the headrest 200. Afterward, the operating member 310 is released, such that the two resilient members 360 recover and drive the two engaging members 330 to protrude from the guiding member 340 and to insert into the corresponding engaging holes 352.
In contrast to the prior art, the end of each of the two shoulder straps of the child safety seat of the present invention, which wraps about the fixing member, passes through the first through hole of the adjusting member and stretches to the front side of the seat body. The ends of the two shoulder straps are coupled with the crotch strap so as to secure a child. Each of the two adjusting members is driven to adjust a height of the corresponding shoulder strap when a height of the headrest is adjusted. When the headrest is positioned at a desired height, the heights of the two shoulder straps match the height of the headrest, and it is not required to adjust the heights of the headrest and the shoulder straps repeatedly. Therefore, the shoulder strap adjusting mechanism has advantages of simple structure and easy operation, such that the child safety seat of the present invention can be adapted for children with different heights.
Those skilled in the art will readily observe that numerous modifications and alterations of the device and method may be made while retaining the teachings of the invention. Caaln
