Abstract

258,308. Austin Lighting Co., Ltd., and Walker, C. B. March 2, 1926. Thermal switches, having a contact C mounted on a current-heated bimetallic coil A, have the co-operating contact F mounted on another bimetallic coil E so that changes in atmospheric temperature are compensated for. Fig. 1 shows one form in which the coil A is heated by current in a winding wound round it. Fig. 3 shows a modification in which the contact C is mounted on the outer ends of two flat bimetallic coils through which the current flows in series, the compensating coil E being also flat.
