Abstract

257,559. Watson, Sir M. July 24, 1926. Latex, collecting. - A wetrepelling substance such as vaseline, or paraffin wax' is applied to rubber trees adjacent to the tapping cut B to prevent the latex from leaving the cut and flowing over the bank in wet weather. The substance is also placed above the cut to deflect rain-water flowing down the trunk from the tapped area. Supplementary cuts F with spouts D<1> may be employed in conjunction with the wet-repelling substance f to keep rain water out of the cut B.
