Thermometers.-In a sterilizing casing for a clinical thermometer the glass &c. tube A containing the antiseptic fluid is provided at its lower end with a self-closing valve C so that the tube can be filled by immersing it in a bottle of antiseptic and pressing the stem B against the base of the bottle, the valve closing on withdrawal. The tube A is enclosed in a metal sheath as described in Specification 170,455.
