Abstract

256,893. Rand, J. H. July 4, 1925. Drawers and drawer fittings.-The trays 10 of a card-index cabinet are supported by hinged .struts 22 automatically lowered as the tray is moved to its position of use. The struts are fixed to pins 24, journaled in the sides of the trays and having cranks 25 with links 26 thereon anchored to the tail-pieces or blocks 14 to which the trays are hinged. On lowering the tray, after withdrawal, the links cause rotation of the cranked pins and subsequent lowering of the struts. The angularity of the cranks and consequent motion of the struts can be adjusted by moving the pins along the sides of the tray, and the struts are also adjustable in length.
