Moving-chamber apparatus. - Apparatus for measuring and mixing calcareous &c. substances comprises a slideway 4 on which reciprocates a member 6 formed with two or more receptacles 7, 7<a>, and a corresponding number of feed passages 3, 3<a> leading from bunkers 1, 1<a>. The member 6 is reciprocated by linkage 8 and discharges the contents of the receptacles into a channel 10 which may lead to a pug mill, and may be fitted with fixed mixing blades. The sizes of the receptacles may be varied, or interchangeable reciprocating members may be employed.
