Iris diaphragms.-An anti-glare shield of the iris diaphragm type comprises coloured glass sections D pivoted to a fixed ring A within a vehicle lamp and operated by means of a rotatable ring B having slots with which pegs B<1> on the sections engage, the operating-lugs B<2> on the ring B being enclosed by covers C<2> provided with slots for the passage of the control wire.
