Abstract
256,109. Brown, T. Dec. 15, 1925. Theatrical appliances. - A transparent or translucent vessel 1 is fitted with a mirror 4 so positioned as to give a symmetrical reflection of the front walls of the vessel. A design 5, which may be coloured, is etched on the mirror 4, and is seen only when illuminated from the rear by light from a lamp 8 directed by a reflector 7. The lamp 8, which may be intermittently lit, is situated in a base 3 apertured at 9, and the reflector 7 is of quarter-elliptical form in vertical cross-section. When the mouth of the vessel 1 is too small to admit the mirror 4 and reflector 7, the bottom 2 may be cut off, and the mirror and reflector attached thereto by wax, a clear area being left for the passage of light. The front half of the vessel may be filled with liquid, jelly, &c. A number of vessels 1 may be mounted on a mechanically rotated table so as tn pass over a source of light in turn.
