Abstract

A housing 1 has at least two protruding parts 4, which extend away from a surface of the housing 1. Each protruding part 4 has an indent, forming a notch type recess in its side. A circuit board 2 has an opening 201. When the housing 1 and circuit board 2 are assembled, the protruding parts 4 pass through the opening 201; and a jumper 3, electrically connected to the circuit board 2, is clamped between fork-like opposing protruding parts 4, in a gap formed by the indent on each. The gap may be smaller than a diameter of the jumper, and the protruding parts 4 may be elastic. The jumper 3 may be welded to the circuit board 2, and may provide an earth connection. The protruding parts 4 and housing 1 may be integrally formed. The assembly may form part of a driver for an LED lighting device.

CIRCUIT BOARD ASSEMBLY
06 18
The invention is in the field of lighting devices and in particular in the field of housings for lighting devices. A lighting device housing arrangement, in particular for a driver for lighting device comprising a circuit board assembly is proposed.
Lighting devices for driving the light emitting means, typically including one or more light emitting diodes (LED) are widely used.
The invention addresses the technical problem of improving the known lighting devices with improvement of the assembly of circuit board while reducing manufacturing and mounting complexity so that reliable manufacturing and assembly is easily possible.
The technical problem is solved by a lighting device according to claim 1. The dependent claims define further advantageous aspects of the inventive circuit board assembly.
The problem is solved by a circuit board assembly, comprising:
a housing, wherein the housing is thereon with at least two protruding parts extending away from the housing, and indentations are
06 18 provided on opposite sides of the protruding parts respectively;
a circuit board, wherein the circuit board is provided with an opening through which the protruding parts can pass, and the opening is provided at a portion of the circuit board corresponding to the protruding parts; and a jumper, wherein the jumper is electrically connected to the circuit board;
wherein, after the housing and the circuit board are assembled together, the protruding parts extend through the opening, the jumper is clamped in a hole cooperatively formed by the indentations of the protruding parts, and a diameter of the hole is smaller than a diameter of the jumper.
The diameter of the hole is preferably between 70% and 90% of the diameter of the jumper, more preferably the diameter of the hole is 80% or 85% of the diameter of the jumper.
The planes where the at least two protruding parts is located may form an alternate angle in a direction that is perpendicular to the circuit board.
The alternate angle may be between 15° and 45° , preferably the alternate angle is 30°.
06 18
The opposite sides of the protruding parts may be arranged obliquely relative to the circuit board.
The jumper may welded to the circuit board.
The protruding parts may be made of elastic metal material.
The protruding parts and the housing may be formed integrally.
The invention will be described in more detail in preferred embodiments with reference to the attached figures, in which Figure 1 shows a perspective view of a housing with a circuit board assembly of a preferred embodiment,
Figure 2 shows another perspective view of a housing with a circuit board assembly of a preferred embodiment,
Figure 3 shows another perspective view of a housing with a circuit board assembly of a preferred embodiment,
Figure 4 shows another perspective view of a housing with a circuit board assembly of a preferred embodiment, and Figure 5 shows another perspective view of a housing without circuit board assembly of a preferred embodiment.
Throughout the attached figures, same reference numerals denote the same elements. In the description of different figures, the description of elements denoted by the same reference signs is not necessarily repeated for sake of conciseness.
06 18
In the following description of embodiments a housing of a driver for a lighting device as an example is discussed.
Figures 1 to 5 show several perspective views from different viewing angles of a housing 1 with a circuit board assembly 2 of a preferred embodiment.
The driver for a lighting device with the circuit board assembly according to the inventive solution comprises a housing 1. The housing 1 is thereon with at least two protruding parts 4 extending away from the housing, and indentations 402 are provided on opposite sides of the protruding parts 4 respectively. A circuit board 2 is provided with an opening 201 through which the protruding parts 4 can pass, and the opening is provided at a portion of the circuit board 1 corresponding to the protruding parts 4; and a jumper 3, wherein the jumper 3 is electrically connected to the circuit board 2.
06 18
After the housing 1 and the circuit board 2 are assembled together, the protruding parts 4 extend through the opening 201, the jumper 3 is clamped in a hole 403 cooperatively formed by the indentations 402 of the protruding parts 4, and a diameter of the hole 403 is smaller than a diameter of the jumper 3.
The diameter of the hole 403 may be between 70% and 90% of the diameter of the jumper 3, preferably the diameter of the hole 403 is 80% or 85% of the diameter of the jumper 3.
The planes where the at least two protruding parts 4 is located form an alternate angle Θ in a direction that is perpendicular to the circuit board 2 The alternate angle Θ is preferably in the range between 15° and 45°. According to one example the alternate angle Θ is 30°.
The opposite sides of the protruding parts 4 are arranged obliquely relative to the circuit board 2.
The jumper 3 may be welded or soldered to the circuit board 2 and may be in electrical connection with the electronic circuitry assembled on the circuit board 2. Preferably the jumper 3 enables an earth connection from the housing 1 to the circuit board 2.
The protruding parts 4 are preferably made of elastic metal material. The protruding parts 4 and the housing 1 are preferably formed integrally.
