Abstract
255,987. Le Tall, F. W., (Westinghouse Electric & Manufacturing Co.). May 19, 1925. Protective. arrangements.-High frequency signalling systems employing an elevated conductor are protected from the effect of lightning, static atmospheric discharge, contact with high voltage conductors &c. by the combination of an inductance 11 connected between the elevated conductor 10 and earth an air gap 12 shunting the inductance and a fuse 13 connected to that end of the inductance which is connected to the elevated conductor and in series with an earthed gap 18. This gap is preferably longer than the first. The receiving apparatus 17 is connected to the elevated conductor through the fuse 13 and one or a series of condensers 14 - - 16 of high dielectric strength.
