Cigarette-making machines. - The tobaccoguide 6 at the entrance of the forming channel 3 of a continuous-rod machine is of thin metal of arched cross-section and projects into the channel 3, the projecting portion bearing against a depending lip within the channel. The channel 3 is divided transversely into two parts; the entrance to the second part 9 is formed of inverted U shape, the limbs of the U being employed to open the carrier belt and to press on, and crease, the sides of the cigarette rod, which is of oval form.
