Patent for a fragranced Stocking Glove submitted by Eureka Moments Limited. Co Number 09867274
Description
The product is to be marketed as SNAGG FREE.
The invention relates to a specially designed glove, which will aid in the process of applying stockings or tights to reduce snagging or hitching, whilst at the same time, fragrance-scented fibres woven into the yarn of our gloves, will allow the full dispersion of a scent uniformly across the hosiery.
The fragrance will be transferred to the stocking or tights through the process of putting the stocking or tights on. The process of running the gloved hands from the ankle to the top of the leg will transfer the fragrance from the glove to the stocking or tights and assist with applying the stocking or tights.
We anticipate 3 fragrances with the Snagg Free gloves;
'Fresh', the smell of cotton fields;
'Allure' - a more romantic/sensual scent;
'Unscented', for people who may have allergies or wish to spray their own favourite perfume on the gloves.
Accordingly, this invention due to the type of material used in its production will minimise if not totally eradicate the potential of snagging or hitching stockings or tights during their application.
The glove is manufactured using Warp field knitting technology which enables a very fine weave to be achieved which contributes to the viscosity (slipability) of the material and enables the glove to grip the stocking or tight fabric without damaging the stocking or tight in the process to aid in application.
The glove is manufactured on a one size fits all basis, and is one handed due to the weave of the material and its composition. The material is a 10 denier powerful weave with a high percentage of lycra which provides a high consistency and strength together with the necessary viscosity required to grip the stocking or tights. The wrist of the glove has an elasticated cuff in order to secure the fit.

Figure 2 Shows a diagrammatic visualisation of the glove.
Claims (1)
- ClaimsWhen someone puts on stockings or tights there is a high risk of snagging them, our product will help prevent this from happening with the added benefit of a fragrance being infused on to the stockings or tights.Our research has shown that no such product currently exists in the market place and that many stockings and tights are ruined during the process of dressing. Equally the burgeoning demand for olfactory stimulation reflects the role of fragrance in influencing emotional state and wellbeing. Scents can enhance mood, provide optimum relaxation or positively stimulate the recall of personal memories.The benefits of having the stocking glove infused with a fragrance and or scent is that it eliminates the need to spray expensive scents or fragrances onto the stockings or tights. This avoids waste and more importantly means that the scent or spray if atomised is not inhaled.This is of particular importance if someone has a respiratory condition such as asthma or is allergic to respiratory sensitizers sometimes found in some perfumes or scents.Our research tells us that perfume and fragrance infusion is especially exciting due to the opportunities to improve issues with scarcity of ingredients. We can reduce possible costs of expensive ingredients by finding an infused alternative to achieve the same results and to further supercharge the mixture of ingredients that will appeal to consumers.Consensus around the world consistently shows there is a demand for scent-based products, as evidenced by the rapidly growing market for fragrance infused fabrics for home decor. The global fragrance market has a large target audience for fragrance infused products and is forever increasing.There is a clear place in the hosiery market for our product and people can save significant money on their hosiery; infusing scent into tights and stockings will be seen as a fashion statement.IntellectualPropertyOfficeGB1611746.7Application No: Claims searched:
