Abstract
A glove suitable for handling women's hosiery without snagging is made from fine Lycra (R.T.M.) yarn, e.g. of 10 denier, and may be warp-knitted. The cuff 3 may be elasticated.
Description
Stocking Glove by SnaeFree Limited Description
The invention relates to a glove which will aid in the process of applying stockings or tights. By specifically reducing the possibility of snagging or hitching currently experienced in the process of dressing and application of the stocking or tight.
Discrete research has shown that no such product currently exists in the market place and that many stockings and tights are ruined during the process of dressing making them useless.
The object of this invention is to minimise possible damage to stockings and tights during application by applying a pair of gloves before putting the stockings or tights on.
Accordingly, this invention due to the type of material used in its production will minimise if not totally eradicate the potential of snagging or hitching stockings or tights during their application.
The glove is manufactured using Warp field knitting technology which enables a very fine weave to be achieved which contributes to the viscosity (slipability) of the material and enables the glove to grip the stocking or tight fabric without damaging the stocking or tight in the process to aid in application.
The glove is able to be manufactured on a one size fits all basis, and is not handed due to the weave of the material and its composition. The material used is a 10 denier powerful weave with a high percentage of lycra which provides a high consistency and strength together with the necessary viscosity required to grip the stocking or tight material to aid in the application of the said stocking or tight. The wrist of the glove has an elasticated cuff in order to secure the fit.
Fig 1 shows a photographic representation of the glove, together with a sample of the material to be used in manufacture. Fig 2 is the pattern for the glove.

- 2. A stocking glove to minimise possible damage to stockings as claimed in Claim 1 wherein the stocking and/or tights could be snagged or hitched during application by applying a pair of stocking gloves before putting the stockings or tights on.
- 3. A stocking glove produced from a type of material, used in its production as claimed in Claim 1 or Claim 2 will minimise if not totally eradicate the potential of snagging or hitching stockings or tights during their application.
- 4. A stocking glove manufactured using material consisting of a very fine lycra weave as in Claim 2 or Claim 3 which contributes to the viscosity (slipability) of the material and enables the glove to grip the stocking or tight fabric without damaging the stocking or tight in the process to aid in application.
- 5. A stocking glove due to the elasticity of the lycra material as in Claim 2 or claim 3 or Claim 4 is able to be manufactured on a one size fits all basis.
- 6. A stocking glove not handed due to the weave of the material as in Claim 5 and its composition.
- 7. A stocking glove manufactured from material using a 10 denier powerful weave with a high percentage of lycra as referred to in Claim 4 or in Claim 5 which provides high consistency and strength together with the necessary viscosity required to grip the stocking or tight material to aid in the application of the said stocking or tights.
- 8. A stocking glove which at the wrist of the glove has an elasticated cuff in order to secure the fit as described herein with reference to figures 1 & 2
