Abstract

254,501. Sakowski, H. K. June 22, 1925. Packing matches.-A container for matches is formed from a continuous strip of cardboard, thick paper, &c., comprising eight interconnected sections which are folded in one and the same direction so that the whole of the advertising matter is printed on one side only of the strip. The end sections 1, 8 form reinforcements for the cover flap 2 and the front flap 7 to which they are secured by adhesive or like. The cover 2 may be held in the closed position by a locking- wire 10 secured upon the outer face of the section 6, or alternatively a nose-piece 40 cut from the section 6 may be bent upwardly to engage the outer edge 2<1> of the cover. With the latter arrangement a corresponding nose-piece 30<6> may also be formed on the base of the match strip. Striking-surfaces 20, 22 may be provided on the outer faces of the cover 2 and flap 7 so that the matches in the container are separated from that being ignited by a double thickness of material.
