Abstract

Counters actuated by reciprocating mechanism. -In a wet gas meter having measuring elements arranged to rock about a common axis, a crank 156 on the shaft of the measuring elements actuates the counting mechanism through a link 187, levers 188, 200, spring- pressed push-bars 202, 203, and friction pawls 204, 205. The push-bars are mounted on a common pin which is adjustable in a slot in the lever 200 in order to vary the amplitude of the movement of the pawls. The casing of the counting mechanism is mounted in the casing of the meter so as to allow of adjustment of the friction pawl gear without removing the front wall of the meter. In another construction of meter the movement of the measuring elements rocks a shaft carrying a two-armed lever, each arm of which carries a spring-pressed pawl engaging a ratchet wheel on the shaft of the counting mechanism.
