253,771. Sperry Gyroscope Co., Ltd., and Harding, W. G. Oct. 9, 1925. Directive signalling. - Apparatus, particularly for use on ships &c., for determining the true bearing of a signal and also its bearing in relation to the ship's course, comprises the combination of a wireless direction finder and a gyro-compass repeater having concentric dials over which moves a pointer common to both instruments. The gyro-compass repeater motor 2 is attached to the casing 1 of a Marconi &c. direction finder comprising a fixed dial 3 and a goniometer knob 4 carrying a pointer 13. The spindle 7 of the motor 2 carries a worm 8 engaging a worm wheel 9 to which is secured a pinion 10 gearing with a ring 11 which carries an annular compass card or dial 12 mounted concentrically with, and outside, the dial 3. The pointer 13 extends across both dials and is provided with transparent windows 14, 15 having lubber lines for reading the graduations.
