Abstract

253,764. British Electric Transformer Co., Ltd., and Flockart, D. P. Sept. 24, 1925. Transformers.-An oil cooled transformer is provided with an expansion chamber comprising end walls a, b connected together at their edges by one or more pairs of flexible corrugated annular members d - - g so that they may move in relation to each other under the expansion of the oil from the transformer casing admitted to the expansion chamber through an aperture, b<1> in the end wall b. The annular members d - - g comprise thin metal sheets welded together and to the end walls a, b so as to provide annular spaces of small depth between them, alternate spaces communicating with the space between the end walls whilst the intermediate spaces are open to the surrounding air.
