Abstract

A baby bib in the shape of a collar that is used to absorb mess and is used to form part of an outfit. The Collar bib will preferably have two different shapes to suit a girl and boy, wherein the boys shape is a tie. The bib will preferably be constructed from two layers of cotton material and fitted with an underlay to ensure absorption. The bib will have a fastening at the rear that my preferably consist of a ribbon tie back or button fastening.

Description

This invention relates to an item of clothing to be worn by babies between the ages of 6 -24 months.

When babies eat, drink or dribble they often wear a bib to protect their skin and clothing from getting dirty and/or wet.

However the use of conventional bibs can often distort the look of the outfit the baby is wearing and is therefore misplaced with the outfit; the baby thus appears to be wearing an additional item of clothing that does not look to be part of the outfit. This in turn may make a decent looking outfit seem unstylish and untidy.

To overcome this situation the present invention proposes a baby bib in the shape of a collar that it intended to serve as both a bib and a collar making it both fashionable and functional.

The function of the bib still serves its purpose as per conventional bibs in that it will absorb liquids and can be used to wipe food residues as well as protect the baby's skin. Furthermore, the additional feature of the bib being shaped like a collar is so that it appears fashionable and forms part of the outfit the baby is wearing.

The invention will now be described solely by way of example and with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 shows a baby collar bib for a baby girl. Figure 2 shows a baby collar bib for a baby boy.

In figure 1, the baby collar bib for the baby girl includes a collar made of three layers consisting of two layers of cotton material with one layer of underlay material in between. On either side of the ends of the collar, a ribbon is attached to tie together and close the bib. The use of the ribbon not only adds a touch of elegance to the baby girls outfit but is also practical in adjusting the size according to the width of the baby's neck and age.

In figure 2, the baby collar bib for the baby boy includes a collar attached Lo a tie all of which are made of 3 layers of cotton material with one layer of underlay material in between. The ends of the collars can be closed with a button that accommodates two neck sizes.

Claims 1 A baby bib that is a collar-shape used to absorb all baby messes and to form a part of the outfit.
2 A baby collar bib according to claim 1, which also comes with a tie attached to the collar for baby boys.
3 A baby collar bib according to claim 1, in which the bib is made with two cotton pieces fitted with an underlay to ensure absorption.
4 A baby collar bib according to claim 3, in which the collar has a ribbon tie-back or button fastening.
