Abstract
A water purification system comprises an inner tube 4 that receives water from a tank 1 and an outer tube 2 that receives water vapour produced by evaporation of the water in the inner tube using solar heat energy, wherein said water vapour is then condensed and passes through holes (9, figure 3). The condensed water passes through a one-way valve 5 into a tube 6 for direct use in an agricultural drip irrigation system or for collection for other uses. The water contained in the tank may be sea water.
Description
Purification system br water from different sources using heat from the sun.
This invention relates to a system for purifying water using renewable energy (the heat from the sun). Many countries have access to sea water and to purify this water (or any other sources of water) requires energy. The use of renewable energy to produce pure is attractive.
since three quarters of the earth's surface is covered with water, but only around 2% of this water is fresh water.
In many hot countries a lot of sea water (or other sources of water) are purified, which requireds a lot of energy. This method describes the purification of water using the sun's heat which is used to give distilled water.
However, the majority of the methods currently used require a lot of energy. The use of water is ever increasing br human, animal and irrigation purposes. In this invention purified water can he used in drip irrigation systems (or collected for other uses).
The invention will be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 shows side view of the purification system.
Figure 2 front view of the purification system.
Figure 3 top view of the purification system.
This sytem works when water from any source is placed into tank (1) through tube (3) and then syphoned into the inner tube (4). The heat from the sun will give it the energy to evaporate and fill the outer tube (2) with water vapor. The vapor will condense and the drops will run to the hottem of tube (2) through the holes (9) in the side of inner tnbe (2), the condensed water should be removed immediately from bottom of tube (2) in order to avoid the occurrence of vapor equlibirium. The collected water must. pass through a one way valve (5) to the tube (6) which can then be used directly for agricultural purposes (drip irrigation system), or collected in tank (7) for other uses. A syphon system from tank (I) to tube (4) is necessary to avoid the occurrence of a water wave in tube (4) which would result in some of the water being pushed into tube (3). Installing a collector will give the system the capability for water to be removed from the system and provide the users with distilled water. The oval shape of tube (4) will be stabilised on any surface by stand (8). The precipitated salts may removed either by flushing tube (4) water (approx. once weekly) or by removal of tube (4) for cleaning which would provide the user with the possible advantage of using the precipitated salt by-product.
The advantage of this system is to provide pure water (distilled water) without using energy other than the sun's heat.
Preferably: no need to any sort of energy other than solar energy.
Preferably: for drinking water, the water can he diluted with any other water (drinking water should contain a certain amount of salts) and this will increase the system output.
Preferably: water produced by this purification method contains no salk and therefore will not increase sail concentration of the soil.
Claims (2)
- Claims: 1-A purifying system invented which can use any sort of water and give distilled water.2-No need for any sort of energy except sun's heat.3-The distilled water can he used for any purpose according to claim 1.4-The system uses renewahle energy since it relies entirely on the sun's heat according to claim
- 2.
