252,607. Wilson & Co., Ltd., H., and MacLachlan, D. S. Oct. 23, 1925. Heating by electricity.-Relates to apparatus for heating oil &c. of the type comprising a number of horizontal tubes containing heating wires and secured in tube plates forming the sides or ends of the tank. The tubes 3 are closed by removable caps 8 provided with insulating bushes 10 through which the heating wires 7 pass. The wires 7 are arranged in coils in contact with asbestos linings 6 in the tubes 3 and the tubes may be filled with sand &c. The wires 7 are secured to bus-bars 11 so connected that the tubes can be heated in separate sets and the caps and bus-bars are enclosed in covers 12, which may be lined with insulating material.
