Galleys and galley mechanism for type-casting machines.-Machines for casting single types 'in a series of a kind or sort are provided with means for delivering the types in column formation on to a table, or into a galley, comprising a line transferrer or pusher in front of which the types are assembled in a line, a trip device operated by a line gauge, and an interponent moved by the trip device into the path of a constantly operating member for actuating the line transferrer. The types x are assembled in a line channel formed by walls E, E<1>, the wall E<1> being adjustable. The line gauge is formed in two parts C, C', so that the part C can be used alone for the larger sizes of type. The part C is formed with a projection C<2> connected by a cord C<3>, passing over guide pulleys C', C<5>, to a weight for returning the line gauge to initial position. The line transferrer A is adjustably secured to a bar A' having an extension A<6> slotted to accommodate a lever G rocked at each revolution of the machine from a cam, through connections adjustable to vary the throw of the lever G for different pointwise dimensions of type. An interponent D, mounted in guides on the bar A<1> for movement into and out of the path of the lever G, is connected to a trip lever B pivoted to a bracket B<1> on the bar A', and extending into the path of the line gauge C. The bracket B<r> is provided with a micrometer screw adjustment b<2>. The lines of tppe are held on the table or galley F between side walls F<1>, F<2>, the wall F<2> being adjustable in a guide F<5>, and the wall F<1> having a micrometer screw adjustment F<6>. The last deliverad line is advanced past a spring-actuated catch or projection f on the wall F<2>.
