Abstract
252,250. Hughes, H. Wilson-. Feb. 20, 1925. Compound sheet materials.- Sheet metal is coated on one or both sides wih plastic asbestoscement or like fibrous material which is first coated, while wet, with bitumen, pitch, or other adhesive and, whilst still plastic, is placed with the coated side inwards on the metal sheet which is also previously coated with a similar binder. The whole is then pressed together. The metal sheet may be perforated or cut to form jagged edges or tongues on each side to key with the coating. For indoor use, casein, glue, or gold size may be used as the binder. The material is applicable as roofing and wall linings.
