Abstract

251,897. Williams, L. Dec. 17, 1925. Shearing. - A sheet shearing-machine has a semi-circular table 12 with upper and lower surfaces of helical formation, and diametral edge horizontal. The axis of an inclined upper cutter shaft 17 driven from a handwheel 23 is in a vertical plane containing the edge of the table and lies over half of it, while the other cutter shaft is in a similar position below the table. The cutters 18, 29 are carried on the inner ends of the shafts. The lower shaft is adjusted longitudinally by an eccentric bolt 25 engaging the shaft bearing and is swung transversely by a bolt 32 engaging a lug 33.
