Abstract

251,642. International General Electric Co., Inc., (Assignees of Allgemeine Elektricitõts Ges.). April 29, 1925, [Convention date]. Magnetic tests and measurements. - Powdered magnetic material for forming cores of loading coils for telephone lines &c. is shaken into a ring-shaped hollow body and tested in the unpressed condition. A hollow ring-shaped container H of insulating materrial is provided with a copper winding W. The powder P to be tested is shaken in through a funnel T, and is shaken out, after testing, through an opening O. The method of testing is particularly applicable in the manufacture of cores from a loose homogeneous mixture of magnetic powder and fine dry insulating powder. The pressure of the powder while under test may be adjusted to the density maintenance point.
