Abstract

Cupboards; sideboards;kitche dressers. -A combined sideboard and dresser of the kind which is built into the wall between two rooms so that cupboards and drawers are acessible from both rooms has a central service hatchwav with recesses on either side. As shown in sectional elevation and plan in Figs. 3 and 4 respectively, the structure projects into the kitchen, but it may be arranged to project into the dining room or into both rooms equally. The central hatchway is closed by a door on the dining room side, while the spaces on either side are centrally divided by fixed partitions 6 to form open recesses in both rooms. In the upper part are three cupboards fitted with shelves' with doors 3, 4 on both sides. In the lower part is a set of drawers 9 which can be drawn out from either side and below these another set of cupboards with shelves and doors on both sides. Sliding shelves above the drawers are arranged to draw out on the kitchen side.
